Knauf Insulation is named Manufacturer of the year at the Building Awards

Knauf Insulation was among a variety of winners to shine through at the prestigious Building Awards ceremony on the 2 April in London, where they were rewarded for excellence and outstanding performance in the UK construction industry.

John Sinfield, Managing Director of Knauf Insulation Northern Europe, commented: “I’d like to congratulate all the winners and finalists at the Building Awards, it really is a celebration of everything that is good in the construction industry. There were some excellent entries and definitely some tough competition, which makes us appreciate our fantastic achievement all the more. 

“Winning the award is a real testament to all the passion, dedication and hard work undertaken by everyone throughout the company.

“It has definitely been a very turbulent year for the UK insulation industry, in which many businesses have been buffeted by the political whims of government. In response we have taken a strong lead in innovatively communicating the industry’s concerns over Green Deal and ECO frameworks. There’s still a long way to go, but our message has always been for industry and Government to collaborate to re-frame the energy efficiency debate, so that the long-term vision still has some hope of being realised.

“This intense lobbying and campaign activity has inevitably led to a proactive approach to finding new innovative routes to grow the industry and installer network – something which I am very proud of.

“I’m also extremely pleased that we have been recognised for our dedication to sustainability – it’s certainly been at the heart of our business. We acknowledge that true sustainability must permeate through every part of the business, from the raw materials and manufacturing processes, to the distribution and disposal of products and waste materials.

“Despite an extremely challenging time in construction, the Building Awards ceremony has shown us that there is a wealth of expertise and innovation in our industry, along with an overwhelming and admirable passion to adapt and reinvent in times of adversity.
